Green Libraries Campaign

The Green Libraries Campaign is a UK-wide, cross-sector programme focused on the contribution of librarians, information and knowledge professionals to the sustainability agenda. We aim to encourage libraries to actively reduce their carbon footprint and increase awareness of environmental issues for the wider public by providing accessible resources.

100s of libraries have signed our Manifesto, the partnership secured a first round of funding that supported 15 libraries across England to take environmental action, the Green Libraries Conference in 2023 and 2024 was a sell-out success, and the annual Green Libraries Week turns hundreds of libraries green in every year in October.
