The original Royal Charter of CILIP was made on 21 May 2002, shortly after the formation of the Institute.
Changes to the Royal Charter must be approved by both the CILIP AGM and Privy Council.
The text was revised substantially in 2007 with further minor changes in 2008. The current version can be downloaded here.
