CILIP's governing body is its Council, which manages the affairs of the Institute.
Council is comprised of 12 Councillors elected directly by the Membership in accordance with the Bye-laws and General Regulations. Councillors are also the Trustees of CILIP so the terms may be used interchangeably. There is provision for up to three co-options on Council.
