Every year CILIP invites nominations for Honorary Fellowship (Hon. FCLIP).
This year the criteria have been worded to encourage nominations from outside the library profession.
Criteria
Nominees should:
- Have raised the profile of libraries and information services
- Have advocated on behalf of libraries and information services
- Be distinguished in areas that are associated with libraries, information or research
Nominations can be made of people who meet all or one of these criteria.
Nominees may include: well-known authors who have campaigned on behalf of libraries; scientists and academics whose work attests to the benefits of research and good resources; business people who use knowledge management to secure success; celebrities who are associated with library and educational campaigns; CILIP Members who have met the above criteria by acting above and beyond what would be expected in CILIP’s qualifications framework.
Nominations – which must be made without the nominee’s knowledge – are now invited for the 2011 round of Honorary Fellowships of CILIP.
Nominations may be made by current individual members of CILIP or by any of the Branches and Groups of CILIP or any of the Committees, Boards and Panels of CILIP.
To make a nomination for Honorary Fellowship please send a statement of no more than 250 words showing how the nominee meets the criteria and giving your eligibility to make the nomination (see paragraph above).
Please note that nominations are made in confidence and are considered in confidence by the Honorary Awards Panel and the Council.
Completed nominations must be returned to the Chief Executive's office by Friday 6 May 2011.
