Biography

David Byrne is Head of Knowledge Management at BT Legal providing strategy development, professional input and a range of coordination for training and knowledge sharing within global multi-disciplinary teams.

Professional activity has included work as a CILIP Scrutineer and Accreditation Board Member, membership of the Chartered Management Institute Approvals Committee and active roles with the BIALL Small Teams Group, the East Midlands Legal Information Group and the CILIP Group on LinkedIN.

His aim for the project is that it should seek out key target audiences, include those not currently CILIP members and those outside London / UK, and reflect the interests of the variety of professionals who have a range of roles and job titles in the libraries, information and knowledge space. The project needs to free itself from the constraints of existing CILIP structures and strive to be bold, innovative and engaging; learning from other professional associations at the same time as looking for ideas from other countries and sectors.
