Our website has changed to include:
- Easier navigation: the menus and structure of the CILIP website have been improved and menus are now expandable.
- Improved design : including a wider text column.
- Quick access to Branch/Groups: Members who log‐in will see links to their Branch/Groups in the header on every page.
- More RSS feeds: individual RSS feed for each Branch/Group
- Easier web editing: extra facilities for web editors including Branch and Group editors
- Added functionality: a new calendar and event-entry interface
Most importantly, the technical platform has been upgraded to one of the leading and best-supported content management systems.
The migration of nearly 6,000 pages of content and subsequent testing of these, plus all functionality, has had to be done in a very tight timescale.
Please bear with us if not everything is working 100% from the moment we go live. If you do come across any broken links, or other problems, it would be a huge help if you could report these to us in our feedback form.
Overview of changes
1. Site-wide
Site-wide functionality such as Site Directory, A-Z index and register/login/My profile has been moved above the top-level menu bar
2. Top-level menu bar
This now contains only the headings of the main 7 sections of the website:
The old Information and Advice section has disappeared as a section and the content has been distributed across the other sections according to where it should fit logically
