- CILIP Council agrees to adopt the
Library and Information Research Group
as a Special Interest Group.
25 April 2003
– CILIP launches a new
ebulletin service
for members, delivering current awareness emails free to members who sign up.
26 September 2003
– CILIP secures a deal with Microsoft giving members substantial
discounts on MS Office software
for home use.
25 October 2003
– CILIP takes over the management of the
LIBEX job exchange
and offers members the opportunity to access information about work placements overseas.
2 December 2003
– CILIP launches the
Early Years Library Network
with support from the Esmée Fairbairn Foundation.
10 December 2003
– CILIP’s new special interest groups the
Diversity Group
and the
Library and Information Research Group
are represented on Council for the first time.
15 December 2003
– The
School Libraries Making a Difference
campaign is launched run by CILIP, the School Library Association and the Association of Senior Children’s and Education Librarians.
