To manage all matters relating to applications for admission to the Register of Certified Affiliates (ACLIP) and to applications for revalidation from Chartered members of CILIP, under the overall direction of CILIP Chartership Board/Council

To assess applications for Certification of Affiliated Members based in the UK, and make decisions in their acceptability (applications for certification from members outside the UK will be assessed by the CILIP Chartership Board)

To assess applications for Revalidation from Chartered Members based in the UK and make decisions on their acceptability (applications for revalidation from members outside the UK will be assessed by the CILIP Chartership Board)

To advise the Chartership Board on any matters relating to admission to the Certification Register of Affiliated Members including the Regulations governing the award of ACLIP

To provide an Annual Report to the Chartership Board on the work of the CILIP Assessment Panel

In liaison with the Chartership Board and other key CILIP groups to ensure the establishment and maintenance of a programme of training and development for all members involved in certification and revalidation (i.e. for assessors, mentors, candidates and potential candidates, and partner organisations)
