CILIP's in-house recruitment consultancy offers access to information and advice services as well as recruitment and placement
News 27/08/03
Career and human resources information and advice are all part of the service from INFOmatch, the recruitment consultancy run by CILIP: the Chartered Institute of Library and Information Professionals - and the recently revamped INFOmatch web site shows just how much more it can offer.
"Because we are a part of the largest, most comprehensive professional institute for library and information workers in the UK, we can provide far more than just job search or placement services," says recruitment consultant Suzanne Wheatley, who is also the INFOmatch website co-ordinator. "INFOmatch services are enthusiastically supported by our colleagues in CILIP - including its Professional Advisers - so you can be sure of the most professional and confidential advice freely given, whatever your problem or query."
To plug into the full range of INFOmatch services, all you have to do is visit www.cilip.org.uk and click on the INFOmatch logo. "We've now put all our documents on the web," Miss Wheatley adds, "so you can access our advice online and download the forms you need to register your staff requirements or submit your CV."
For jobseekers, there's advice on preparing your CV, information on the state of the current job market, and tips on how to perform in interview. Recruiters can use INFOmatch to link into current awareness and advice on issues such as salary, equal opportunities and policies from CILIP's team of advisers, and obtain guidance on professional qualifications from Member Services.
INFOmatch also places temporary staff, and its new web site provides information for them on such issues as timesheets, getting paid, annual leave, rest breaks and statutory sick and maternity pay. "We are a member of the Recruitment and Employment Confederation (REC)," adds Suzanne Wheatley, "ensuring professional standards in all aspects of recruitment."
Forms available for downloading include a Job Specification form for recruiters and an Application form for jobseekers. Each of these forms includes INFOmatch's specially designed skills and competencies list, covering basic library, professional and office skills, as well as research, IT and internet/intranet capabilities. Management, communication, marketing/publicity and staffing experience are also covered, as are specialist areas such as records or document management, archives or knowledge management.
