CILIP's second Wi-Fi conference to focus on getting value for money

CILIP has teamed up with Civic Conferences to host a second one-day conference on Wi-Fi in Libraries. It will be presented at the QEII Conference Centre in London on 13 March 2007 and build on the success of the inaugural event in 2005, which attracted more than 100 delegates who rated it 95% Good to Excellent.

The theme of the conference is Getting full value from your investment in Wi-Fi and the programme will focus on the impact, challenges and potential of wireless broadband in public and academic libraries. The programme comprises presentations, debates and discussions led by a 14-strong panel of expert contributors.

Major suppliers sponsoring the event include SirsiDynix, Bluesocket, Insight Media and Telindus, who will enable delegates to get hands on with the latest technology during the day. The MLA is also supporting the event, and its Chief Executive Chris Batt will deliver a Keynote Presentation.

All registered delegates will have the chance to win a Wi-Fi-enabled laptop in a special prize draw at the event organised by Wi-Fi specialists Regenerate IT.

Wi-Fi in Libraries 2007 is aimed at Chiefs of Library Services in public and academic libraries, Directors of Information Management, and all those with responsibility for or influence over the strategic development, procurement, purchase, installation and use of broadband wireless in public, academic and corporate libraries.

CILIP's first Wi-Fi conference sold out completely so immediate booking is strongly advised as only 100 delegate places are available. Full information about the conference and speaker panel plus a detailed programme is available online at www.cilip.org.uk/wifi2007 together with a downloadable Booking Form.
