Registration underway for CILIP's
latest RFID in Libraries conference
Registrations are already starting to build up for CILIP's third RFID in Libraries conference at the QEII Conference Centre in London on 13 November. The event promises to be the biggest and best yet, and more space has been secured at the venue to cope with demand.
This year's conference theme is Putting RFID to work - are you getting value for money? Case studies from leading public and academic libraries will be complemented by CILIP's latest research into RFID implementation, and a Hot Topics section will cover cutting-edge RFID developments.
Both previous conferences attracted sell-out audiences and were rated 90% Good to Excellent by delegates. Places are limited, but online booking and details of the programme and speakers are available online at www.cilip.org.uk/rfid2007.
New this year is a Vendors' Discussion Forum when leading suppliers will join a moderated debate with library users and delegates about key issues. Also new is the BIC/CILIP RFID in Libraries Award, which will be presented during the conference for an innovation or installation made in 2007.
For the first time the RFID in Libraries conference has its own Blog, which will provide updates about the event and enable delegates to comment. Part of CILIP's Communities project it can be visited via the event's website or directly via http://communities.cilip.org.uk/blogs/rfid.
A record ten sponsors are supporting the conference, and they will demonstrate the latest RFID technology during refreshment breaks and the Networking Reception at the close of the event. This year's sponsors are: 3M Library Systems, DS; Plescon Security Products; Intellident; D-Tech; Talis; 2CQR; Telepen; Tribal; and ELIMS/Holt Jackson.
