Lynne talks about the challenges facing the profession and changes that social media and web 2.0 brings. She addresses the opportunities, urges her fellow professionals to embrace new ways of using technology and to 'just do it!'
Umbrella is organised by CILIP and is one of the largest conferences for library and information professionals. The quality of speakers was highly praised at Umbrella 2007, with the content of sessions rated 95% Good to Excellent.
Lynne Brindley has been the Chief Executive of the British Library since July 2000 and is the first information professional to hold this post.
