Judith Broady-Preston

Biography:
Dr. Judith Broady-Preston is Chair of the Management Research Group at DIS, Aberystwyth University, where she has been employed since January 1990, having also been Director of Learning and Teaching, and a member of the Department’s Senior Management Team (2000-2007). Prior to 1990, she worked at Leeds Metropolitan and Sheffield Universities. Before becoming a full-time academic, Judith worked originally as a health services librarian and subsequently as an academic librarian.
Her research interests are value, quality, impact, performance measurement and services marketing. She has published extensively in a range of international journals and undertaken national and international consultancy projects. Judith has presented numerous conference papers on all continents bar Australasia and Antarctica, but would be happy to remedy either omission if invited to do so!
Regional Editor of two international journals, Library Management and Journal of Education, Media & Library Sciences, she is also a member of the editorial boards of Library and Information Research and Performance Measurement and Metrics. A regular reviewer of journal and conference papers, Judith has been a member of numerous national and international conference planning committees, and assesses new monographs for five commercial publishers.
Secretary of BAILER (1997-2004), she has also been involved actively in professional associations, beginning with election to the IIS Southern Region Committee in 1994, being a member of the final General Council of the IIS. On the inauguration of CILIP, she was firstly Honorary Treasurer CILIP Cymru/Wales, then Vice-Chair and was Chair of CILIP Cymru/Wales (2006-December 2007) until election to Council in December 2007.
