Sheila will outline her view of information literacy, and why she thinks it is important to see it as a subject domain of importance to all citizens and not just a set of skills.

Sheila Webber is a Lecturer in the Department of Information Studies at the University of Sheffield, and a Fellow of CILIP. Her current interests include information literacy and weblogs.

Previous jobs include Lecturer at the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow, Head of the British Library Business Information Service and Manager of BLAISE Online Services.
