AGM 2005

The first Annual General Meeting of CILIP in London will be held at CILIP Ridgmount Street, London WC1E 7AE on Thursday 19 May 2005 starting at 6 p.m.

The agenda is as follows:

1. Welcome to the first AGM
2. Apologies for absence
3. To receive the annual report from the Branch president for 2004
4. To receive the statement of accounts for 2004
5. To appoint Hon. Auditors for 2005
6. To offer members present an opportunity to raise issues which they wish to draw to the Committee’s attention

The formal meeting will then be followed by a discussion around the theme of “Mayor Livingstone and Libraries.”

London has the largest and most varied library and information services in the UK and possibly in Europe. However, their contribution to culture, education, economy and social life seems little understood at City Hall.

So three presentations will get the discussion going highlighting what Mayor Ken Livingstone should know about the rich variety of London’s libraries and information services focusing on:

The Academic sector - Liz Chapman, University College London Library
The Public sector - John Lake, Barbican Library City of London and
The Workplace sector - Tayo Ajibade, Baker and McKenzie, Solicitors

So come along and join in the debate. The meeting is open to all but please note only CILIP in London members may take part in the AGM.

Refreshments will also be provided so please inform Edward Dudley (020 7628 3523 or email: dudl@btinternet.com) if you plan to attend.
