About us
The South Western Branch is the regional Branch of CILIP covering the geographical area west of and including Gloucestershire and Wiltshire, and including the Channel Islands.
The Branch's mission is:
- To represent and promote professional ideals and the social standing of librarianship in the Branch area.
- To represent effectively and to promote CILIP in the Branch area.
- To act as a focus for, and channel of communication between, CILIP and its members in the Branch area.
Objectives
In pursuance of the above mission the Branch has the following long-term objectives:
- To achieve a better understanding in the Branch area of what librarians and their Association stand for and achieve.
- To ensure a better understanding by CILIP of the needs and views of its members in the Branch area.
- To gain more members for CILIP in the Branch area.
