Certification

If you have experience in an information role gain recognition for your knowledge, understanding and competence. Certification focuses on demonstrating your knowledge and skills, and developing these in the workplace. 

Certification is the first step on the Professional Registration journey and is available to all CILIP members.

Step 1: enrol

Register on the CILIP Virtual Learning Environment (VLE), complete the online enrolment form and pay the £25.00 enrolment fee.

Step 2: gather documents and evidence

Collect key documents and gather evidence for your Certification portfolio.

Step 3: create and submit your portfolio

Once you and your mentor or Candidate Support Officer are satisfied that you have addressed all the criteria, you are ready to send your portfolio to CILIP.

Information for existing candidates

If you registered for Professional Registration prior to 1st July 2013, then you are able to submit using the old regulations until 30th November 2014.
