Entries now open for the Libraries Change Lives Award

Applications are open for the 2018 CILIP Libraries Change Lives Award for innovative library and information projects and services that have a positive and demonstrable impact on their user community and reflect intelligent service design or best practice delivery.

Chair of Judges, John Vincent said: “We have a library and information sector to be proud of in the UK. There is a great deal of commitment from skilled staff who are delivering high quality, strategic work and services that have real impact. Sharing this work more widely is enormously valuable to the sector and I would encourage applications from great initiatives of any kind that we can all learn from”.

The long-running annual award showcases the vital role of library-based initiatives from around the UK that are designed and delivered by library staff to address current needs in their local user communities. These projects not only transform lives at a personal level, but have a real impact on the wellbeing of local communities and help fuel the local and national economy.

The CILIP Libraries Change Lives Award is organised and judged by CILIP’s Community, Diversity and Equality Group. The winning project or service will receive a £4000 investment and two runner-up services will also be recognised. The closing date for entries is 30 March 2018.
