The workforce is changing and the library and information profession is not exempt from this. But what does this mean for you? What skills will you need? What jobs are you going to do? Whilst these are challenging questions to answer, this presentation examines current trends and introduces a variety of new areas in which the profession is evolving. Whilst the adage of ‘change is a constant’ remains true, we will explore how to prepare for the impacts of technological and digital influence in the near future.
1440  Reshaping Library and Information Services: a view from academia - Dr Judith Keene, University Librarian, University of Worcester

As library and information professionals, a key focus of our roles is service provision and we need to consider how to adapt and develop these services and the skills our staff need in an evolutionary society. Using SCONUL’s recent research on the future of academic libraries we will explore implications for other sectors as they also seek to deliver service excellence in a digital and technological age.
1540  Automation and AI - impacts and opportunities - Terry Corby, CEO, Ryalto

Every week there seems to be a rehashed article covering the 'rise of the robots', who appear to be clambering up the corporate ladder. Their aspirations may have no bounds! No one is safe...or are they? Terry is going to open up discussion to a range of case studies exploring the impacts of technology and how it has reshaped working processes in new and exciting ways.
