European Commission Green Paper on copyright in knowledge economy

The European Commission has issued a green paper on copyright in the knowledge economy. Read the Green Paper on the EC's website.

The green paper introduces a review of European copyright exceptions and limitations. LACA's response (November 2008) says that the changes to copyright law introduced by the legislator in an attempt to adapt it to the digital age have created a great imbalance tipped too much to rightholders. Copyright or authors' rights have been strengthened without compensatory treatment of the exceptions.
