Women's Institute campaign for libraries

Love Your Libraries Campaign

Members of the Women's Institute voted overwhelmingly in favour of campaigning in support of public libraries at their AGM in June 2011. They pledged their commitment to fight to prevent library closures and to advocate the value library services bring to communities. The campaign lasts for two years.

"I'm thrilled that we have a new and powerful friend fighting our corner"

About NFWI campaigning

The National Federation of Women’s Institutes (NWFI) campaigns on a range of national and local issues of concern to their members. Current campaigns include calls for clear country of original labelling on products and an end to the inappropriate detention of people with mental health problems.  Every year members put forward resolutions for discussion at the AGM in June, if passed these form the basis of campaigning and awareness raising activities in the years ahead.  The WI’s 210,000 members are an extremely influential lobbying force.
