Staff working in the library and information sector can avail of the Chartered Institute of Library and Information Professional's Framework of Qualifications.  Staff may obtain Affiliated, Chartered or Fellowship status, depending on their individual circumstances.  At present, CILIP Ireland has a number of staff working for their Chartership (MCLIP) and Affiliate (ACLIP) qualifications.

Chartered Librarians are eligible to become mentors and share their expertise, experience, guidance and support to ACLIP and MCLIP candidates.  They also have the opportunity to become part of a network of mentors and it adds up to a most worthwhile experience and recognition of their own Chartership status.

To become a mentor, you will receive complimentary training.  This involves attending a one-day mentor training course at a venue in Northern Ireland.
