CILIP Ireland would like to announce the following news:

  • CILIP Ireland Members' Day is planned for Wednesday 28th March 2012 from 10.30am - 1.00pm.  The venue is yet to be confirmed.  All are welcome.  Please check back regularly to keep updated. (20/01/2012)
  • New professionals who are members of CILIP can now submit an application to become the first winner of the Aspire Award in memory of CILIP's former CEO Bob McKee, which has been established to help new professionals develop through networking at UK and international events.  Follow the link above to find out more information about the Award and how to enter (23/05/2011).  Closing date is Thursday 9th June.
  • The University of Ulster are running two CPD events in June.  The first is 'Advocacy for special and small libraries', running on 3rd June 2011, and the second is 'Research skills for evidence-based library and information work' on 9th June 2011.  Both CPD events have the CILIP Seal of Approval.  Please use the links to find out more information and to book your place (18/05/2011).
  • CILIP Ireland's Annual Report for 2010 is now available.  Read it by following the link or by going directly to the page 'About Us' (30/04/2011).
  • CILIP is supporting Save Our Libraries Day, taking place on Saturday 5th February.  It will focus greater attention to the cuts and closures facing many public library service - see how to play your part here. (29/01/2011)

  • CILIP has appointed a new Chief Executive following the announcement of Bob McKee's retirement.  Annie Mauger is due to take up post in November.  Read the press release here.
  • CILIP's Policy and Advocacy Unit's work on dealing with the impact of the recession on library and information services has started.  Read about their work here (16/08/2010).
  • It is with great sadness and regret that CILIP announces that its Chief Executive, Bob McKee, passed away this weekend (16/08/2010).  Read the message from CILIP here.
