Aims and Objectives

The overall aim of the branch is to provide a focus for members' activities in the region. CILIP has drawn up a daunting list of aims and objectives for branches but the Committee has agreed that we must be realistic about what we can expect to achieve. We have therefore identified three key priorities to focus on:

• Building strong relationships and partnerships with sub-branches and groups in the region. Chairs of the sub-branches are invited to the February meeting of the branch committee annually in order to ensure the closest possible working relationship between the branch and its sub-branches. 
• Supporting Continuing Professional Development (CPD) and branch involvement with the new CILIP Qualifications Framework.
• Developing a mutually beneficial relationship with other bodies having responsibilities for promoting museums, libraries and archives in the South East.
