Continuing Professional Development (CPD) & Bursaries

The Framework of Qualifications provides CILIP with a new means of recognizing skills and new routes into the profession. It encourages the practice of CPD and seeks to achieve parity with other professions.

The Framework creates a new role for branches in the recruitment and training of assessors and mentors. Branches are expected to provide ongoing support for the process as a whole and for those who are involved in implementing it within their local area.

SE Branch Bursaries

Bursaries are available to CILIP members living, working or studying within the South East Branch to attend training events. All library and information-related events such as study days, workshops and conferences will be considered.

Applicants will be expected to state why they want to attend a particular event and how they plan to use their new knowledge and skills. Successful applicants will be expected to produce a report for the South East Branch newletter and website after attendance at the event.

Please refer to Guidelines for Bursary Applications before applying.

Funding can be applied for at any time during the year by submitting the Bursary Application Form

Note: Bursaries depend on the availibility of funding, and the Committee reserves the right not to award free places. Applicants will be notified as soon as possible after the decision is made.
