Kent Sub-Branch AGM and visit to Ramsgate Library
26th March 2009 at 3:00 PM
This is an archive of past events arranged by the Kent Sub Branch.
An opportunity to attend the Annual General Meeting of the branch and then visit the newly opened Ramsgate Library.
Ramsgate Library re-opened on 2 February 2009, after a fire in 2004. The building has been fully refurbished, with the foyer & façade restored to their original glory.
The original two story Carnegie library was built in 1904 & was a traditional brick building with some exquisite architectural features. The fire, though devastating, presented an exciting opportunity to develop the library services for the local community.
The library’s distinctive attractive exterior has been retained & with its beautiful front façade, it is once again a memorable landmark. It is also, now, a library for the 21st Century.
