What's Going on in Libraryland West Midlands? 

Referbishment, special event, launching a new service or is your local branch facing reduced opening hours or closure?

WM Branch is hoping to create a focus for library related news items featuring libraries and librarians within the region, but this will only work if you let us know what is going on out there.

Major new libraries in the West Midlands.

There are two major new library developments currently underway in our region; The Library of Birmingham and the Worcester Library & History Centre, due to open in 2013 & 2012 respectivly.  For further information see the panals on the right of the screen.

Worcester Library & History Centre

Worcester Library & History Centre

A new multi-million pound Library & History Centre is being constructed  in the St Clements area of Worcester, and will open to the public in 2012.

The Centre is a partnership project between University of Worcester and Worcestershire County Council which will bring a range of services under one roof:......see the website for more information.

 

 

The Library of Birmingham

The Library of Birmingham will occupy a prime site on Centenary Square between the Birmingham Repertory Theatre (The REP) and Baskerville House and is a major flagship for the regeneration of the city .....see the website for more information
