The New Professionals Conference is open to any library and information professional, including students and those that have an interest in the work of information professionals but may not be qualified or studying for a qualification at this time. The main target group for participants are those that are newly qualified, within the last 5 years or so but all are welcome!

Sessions will be presentation based, with the opportunity for delegates to share experiences and ask questions, and to vote for the best paper. The winner will receive £100 and a bottle of Sue Hill Fizz, generously sponsored by

Learning outcomes:

At the end of the conference, delegates will be able to understand issues relevant to new library and information professionals and have an improved ability to:

● identify developmental needs and model relevant skills in the changing world of libraries and information

● demonstrate professionalism and stand out from the crowd in economically challenging circumstances

● recognise relevant issues and improve confidence in tacking them

● analyse marketing techniques especially relevant to New Professionals

Delegate rates:

CDG members - £60 + 20% VAT = £72

CILIP members - £70 + 20% VAT = £84

Non CILIP members - £80 + 20% VAT = £96

Students & Unwaged - £35 + 20% VAT = £42 (20 places available, on a first come first served basis)

Delegate rate includes morning and afternoon refreshments and buffet lunch
