Conference Learning Outcomes:
Attendees can expect to gain insight into opportunities for partnership and collaborative working, such as:
- What different sectors can learn from each other, and the benefits of being involved in cross-sectoral organisations, such as CILIP sub-branches and 'libraries in co-operation' groups;
- What can be gained by working with others in the same sector, in order to benefit from 'strength in numbers', such as when conducting research;
- How to draw on the knowledge and wisdon of more experienced colleagues when faced with a new challenge, or when working together to deliver training;
- The potential benefits of collaborating with academics in order to produce evidence-based research and how this can be achieved;
- Developing the skills and qualities that library and information professionals will need to meet the needs of an ever-changing world;
- How librarians can break away from their traditional role behind the enquiry desk, and use outreach and web2 social platforms to reach a wider audience.
