How to join

We are open to everyone, including students, library and information workers of all levels and sectors within the profession, those considering a career in library and information work, colleagues from overseas, and retired people.

You will need to be a member of CILIP: the Chartered Institute of Library and Information Professionals to join the Career Development Group, and as a member you have the option to belong to 2 Special Interest Groups free of charge. You can join more than just 2 Groups, but this involves a small additional charge.

So if you want to become a member of the Career Development Group then join CILIP and select Career Development Group as one of your 2 free Special Interest Groups of CILIP.

If you are already a member of CILIP, you can change your Special Interest Groups online. Just register for your username and password.

If, however, you want to add the Career Development Group as an additional Special Interest Group, it's as easy as one phone call or email!
