The value of cataloguing : CIG conference 2012
Libraries from all sectors are increasingly under pressure to achieve more with reduced resources. This is especially the case for cataloguing. Changed and changing workflows are making cataloguers re-think how they can continue to provide quality.
How can cataloguers demonstrate the essential, important, but endangered nature of their work? Do they have the skills and knowledge required in the 21st century cataloguing environment? How can they meet the challenge of new ways of working and adopting new standards?
The 2012 CIG conference aims to ask, and answer, the difficult questions facing cataloguing.
