The CLSIG committee have a meeting approximately every quarter. The minutes, responses to consultations, minutes to AGMs and other supporting materials are kept in the Committee Documents section.
CLSIG is pleased to announce a series of evening seminars for Information Professionals in the commercial, legal and scientific sectors.
The Professional Development Club focuses on practical solutions to the day to day challenges faced by CLSIG members, and will allow you to share your experiences and learn from your colleagues.
AUKML/CLSIG Open Day 2008 – Monday 27th October
New to the profession? Studying information? AUKML (The Association of UK Media Librarians) and CLSIG (The Commercial, Legal and Scientific Information Group) invited graduate trainees, first jobbers and student librarians to their joint annual Open Day. Information Professionals from all parts of the workplace sector will speak about their working day and offer tips on finding jobs in their area. Charles Oppenheim of Loughborough University spoke about studying information and a Recruitment Consultant from Sue Hill Recruitment advised career in information. There were also tours of the nearby British Library and British Medical Association's library.

We were saddened to learn of the unexpected death on 28 September of Johan, with whom we ran the joint CLSIG-EUSIDIC Bloomsbury Conference earlier this year. There is a page online on the EUSIDIC website, at http://www.eusidic.net/hn/ if friends & colleagues wish to leave memories & messages for Johan’s daughter and his other family & friends.

A few months ago Stephanie Keenan, a Library & Information Manager in a waste management company, contacted ICLG asking if our members could assist with her survey of value & efficiency in document supply services as used in small commercial libraries. ICLG put out a call to the membership, which seems to have produced a very successful response. We are delighted to have the opportunity of publishing Stephanie's report on her findings.
