CSG  is considering merging with Diversity Group
CILIP is changing to meet the needs of its members and to address the difficult financial situation in which it finds itself. As part of this process of change CSG is taking the initiative by investigating new ways of increasing capacity to develop and grow, engage with younger members of the profession and to re-energise its vision. CSG has co-operated and collaborated with other CILIP Groups in the past and is now discussing a possible merger with Diversity Group as we have identified shared values.  It is anticipated that a new group with a new vision will emerge.  The new group will have a greater capacity to achieve all the things special interest groups such as CSG and DG wish to achieve but don’t necessarily have the resources to do.

CSG’s mission is ‘Information, Equality and Opportunity – CSG works towards creating community cohesion by promoting the use of library and information services to empower people and improve their quality of life.’ These aims and aspiration are shared by Diversity Group.
