New Professionals Conference 6 July 2009

Scroll down the page for more information on a joint conference between the Career Development Group, the Diversity Group and London Metropolitan University.

Library Skills for a Globalised World Project Consultation

London Metropolitan University’s Department of Applied Social Sciences was the New Professionals conference partners and sponsor and also ran a consultation on the library skills public library staff need. The consultation was also part of the conference.

Their project, called Skills for a globalised world: relevant skills for public library staff, focuses on reassessing the skills needed by library staff and on developing new learning opportunities that meet the need for the development of new skills.

As part of their consultation they had a questionnaire based on a chart that has ideas on the operational and strategic skills are needed to create a new skills balance for public libraries.
