The Diversity Group took part in a number of workshops at Umbrella 2009: Making Connections - The power of people, partnerships & services, 14–15 July 2009, University of Hertfordshire, Hatfield.

New Professionals Conference
"What is it like to be a Library & Information Professional in the 21st Century? Forum and debate from a New Professionals perspective".
Monday, 6th July 2009, London Metropolitan University
This was a joint conference, organised as a forum for New Professionals, by the CILIP Career Development Group and the Diversity Group, in partnership with London Metropolitan University's Department of Applied Social Sciences. The Career Development Group has also developed a New Professionals Network.
