The next Diversity Group Committee meeting is on Wednesday 22nd February 2012 - at 13.30, CILIP, London. Diversity Group and Community Services Group Merger - update
Diversity Group held an EGM (Extraordinary General Meeting) on Wednesday 2 November at CILIP to vote on a merger with Community Services Group. The vote was in favour of the merger.

The Groups are now in discussion with CILIP regarding the process and have appointed representatives from the two respective Committees to sit on the Steering Group that will take this proposal forward. The first Steering Group meeting took place on Monday 21 November. Items discussed included vision and objectives and name and governance ie: committee structure, oficers, sub-groups.

Diversity Group sessions at Umbrella - July 2011
The Diversity Group ran four sessions in partnership with other CILIP Special Interest Groups at Umbrella 2011 on 12-13 July 2011. Details of sessions and selected presentations are available to download from our Conferences page.

Diversity Group Committee meeting and AGM 2011
Wednesday 8th June 2011, CILIP
The Diversity Group AGM and Committee meeting took place on Wednesday 8th June 2011 in CILIP, London.
The Diversity Group AGM featured a panel chaired by Guy Daines, Director of Policy & Advocacy Unit of CILIP. Both Guy Daines and Margaret Watson, Director of Leading Edge Training (UK), spoke on diversity and its relevance for the advancement of the profession. Members were also invited to attend the International Library and Information Group (ILIG) Informal get together - A Travelling Librarian encounters the Caribbean in the US: collaboration, partnership and the Haiti Earthquake after the AGM at CILIP.
