About us
HLG is a UK based network of individuals working in or professionally interested in health and social care information. Our strength is our diverse and active membership covering all health and social sectors, and geographical areas in the UK. Members work for the health service, the academic sector, the independent sector, government departments, professional associations, charities and public libraries. Students with an interest in health and social care information are also welcome. Several HLG members live and work abroad.
Mission Statement
HLG supports its members to mobilise health information, though advocacy and through continuing professional development.
Business Plan
Our objectives in 2009 to 2010 are:
To clarify our identity and aims

- To provide services which best meet our members’ needs
- To champion health information
- To improve communication with all our stakeholders

CPD
Study days and other meetings are held throughout the year. The HLG conference is held biannually and HLG contributes to the CILIP Umbrella conference. We also support our members’ CPD by offering bursaries to attend CPD activities.

The Group Rules will be placed here once CILIP have finished their work on Special Interest Group rules.
