HLG Wales marketing study day

A study was held on 11th November 2010 at the Pavilion, Llandrindod Wells, from 10.30 – 3.30.
A practical workshop was held in the morning on creating strategic marketing plans, delivered by Kay Grieves. Our afternoon speakers were Maurice Wakeman, on marketing for health libraries and Cath Wright-Jones on poster design. Library staff were invited to bring their own materials, for a “show and tell” session at lunchtime. Our focus was obviously on health libraries, but it was also open to other sectors.

Health Information Day for library staff working in various sectors - 6th July 2009

HLG Wales are organising study days about health information for other library sector staff e.g. public, FE, prison, university, school library staff and others. The focus will be on current trends in health information and health library services in Wales and how all sectors can work together to provide benefits to the service.

Speakers from NHS Direct, Health Promotion Wales will be presenting and a general overview of services and resources will be provided. Hands on workshops guided by health information staff will allow participants to explore resources for themselves and find out the expert health information available. There will also be an interactive workshop session that will focus on reading and what health benefits it brings to individuals, looking at how the health sector can benefit your library sector and an opportunity to draw up an action plan for the future.

The study day will be at the National Botanic Gardens, delegates will be able to explore the wonderful gardens, glass houses and library.

Funding has been provided by CyMAL, so places are free to delegates.
