Electronic memory project
In October 1999 the Library History Group, supported by the Retired Members Guild, was given a small grant from the Library association's Branch and Group Development Fund to establish an open access electronic archive of library staff reminiscences. The results of the subsequent research - which proceeded under the title 'Electronic Memory Project' - are presented here. Submissions, unedited and largely freestyle and unprompted, range from fairly full to partial, though none the less interesting, recollections of past service to libraries. The Library History Group is grateful to contributors for taking the time to submit material to the project. The project was directed by Alistair Black. Research assistance was given by Julia Taylor and Margaret Hung.
Reminiscences of:
The original idea for the Electronic Memory Project came from Peter New. His own reminiscence, published as 'Poor man's John Arlott: semi professional memoirs' in 2002, is available from the Library History Group.
