PrLG Training Day 2011

Tuesday 17th May 2011 at CILIP HQ.

The theme of the PrLG Training Day 2011 is 'Let's get digital!'. The day was very successful and delegates were left feeling inspired to get more use out of new technologies.

Meg Silver gave a presentation on how to deal with the problems of keeping up to date with new developments in technology when you can't use them in your daily work. She was followed by Ned Potter of York University who gave a presentation on how new technology can be and is being used in libraries. You can view this presentation by clicking here.

After lunch and the PrLG AGM Victor Arnott of MegaNexus gave a presentation about the new Virtual Campus system that will be rolled out to all state-run prisons over the coming months. To find out more about MegaNexus and the virtual campus visit their website by clicking here.

Helen Leech, the virtual content manager for Surrey Libraries, gave a presentation on 23 Things, an online learning facility which originated in the United States and is now being used in libraries across the UK. You can learn more about 23 Things by clicking here.

Sue Wilkinson finished off the day by giving a presentation on the Frontline training package. Visit the Opening the Book website which runs Frontline by clicking here.
