ASK: the Assignment Survival Kit. A practical approach to information literacy
Visit to the Working Class Movement Library The visit comprised of a guided tour of the Working Class Movement Library led by Lynette (WCML Librarian) and her team of volunteers. As well as books, it has banners, prints, photos, posters badges and many other artefacts. the collection begins with Thomas Paine in the 1790s and goes right up to the present day, taking in the Chartists, Socialism, suffragettes, the Spanish civil war and the miners* strike of 1984/85.For more information about the WCML including directions please visit: http://www.wcml.org.uk/
How Green is Your Library?
The day event consisted of two presentations from Kathy Pitt from Leeds Metropolitan University and Ian Young from University of Leeds who outlined their experiences. Following these talks there was the opportunity for attendees to share ideas. After lunch, a tour of the Newton Rigg library which was designed to include green features was provided.
