Aims and Objectives
Aims
i. To provide a focus for Continuing Professional Development for university, college and research library and information staff in the region
ii. To anticipate and respond to emerging issues within the library and information environment
iii. To provide continuing opportunities for the sharing of experience, best practice and debate between library and information staff in the region.
iv. To work in close collaboration with national and local groups
v. To promote the UCRG within the region and encourage both participation and new membership.
Objectives
We will seek to achieve our aims via:
i. An annual programme of development events, including meetings, workshops, exchange visits and social events
ii. Maintenance and development of communication links with regional members
iii. Development of promotional materials
iv. Active liaison with CILIP NE, COFHE NE and UCRG National committee
