South West

The South West Section aims to support members working in and interested in the Higher Education information world within the South West area. We endeavour to hold events covering a broad spectrum of issues from the latest conceptual developments to practical skills-based workshops. Our area is geographically broad, therefore we try to spread the location of events across the region.

At our most recent event we focused on negotiating licences and contracts, asking 'Are you getting what you paid for?'.  At previous events we've reviewed the use of free software, considered the support needs of international students, surveyed new frontiers in user education, and shared experiences of Web 2.0 in academic libraries.

'DARTS 3 – Discover Academic Research, Training & Support' is our third residential conference on the theme of research support, to held on 28-29th June 2012 at Dartington Hall, near Totnes.   For further information and bookings, see our 'Events' page.
