Yorkshire & Humberside

The Yorkshire & Humberside group of the CILIP University, College & Research Section provides a regional focus for members working within the sector.

It is an enthusiastic group committed to providing a varied programme of events for members working in the region, and feeds back to the CILIP Yorkshire and Humberside Branch committee through its representation there.

Events planned by the group over an academic year usually include full-day or half-day events on topics of current interest, with external speakers; practical workshops; and visits to libraries, information centres etc within the area. We aim to plan a programme of events aimed at different levels of staff and at an affordable price in order to provide opportunities for continuing professional development, and networking with colleagues. We offer a number of free LIS student places for each event. On our website you will find reports from past events, written by members, plus details of forthcoming events. We welcome any suggestions from members in the region for possible future events.

Members are encouraged to serve on the committee. This would give an opportunity to develop skills in organising events, managing finances, minute taking, etc, plus offering the chance to enrich your CV and build closer relationships with colleagues across the region. Anyone interested in joining the committee can contact the Chair or Secretary at any time of the year and would be very welcome.
