YLG annual conference


This is acknowledged as a 'must attend' event for everyone involved with the promotion of reading and books for children and young people.  It sets the current agenda for library services for children and young people, ensuring a proactive response to key national priorities.  It provides essential Continuing Professional Development with:

  • Inspirational speakers, seminars, practical workshops, exhibitions and forums
  • The chance to enhance knowledge and awareness of the best children's literature, network with publishers and to meet favourite authors and illustrators
  • The opportunity to share good practice and make contacts with fellow practitioners and acknowledged experts in their field

     

    STUDENT/ ACLIP CANDIDATE SPONSORSHIP OPPORTUNITY 2012

    Applications are invited from undergraduate or postgraduate students on library/ information courses accredited by CILIP, or ACLIP candidates working in school or public libraries for free sponsored places at the annual Youth Libraries Group (YLG) Conference. In 2012 this is to be a joint conference with CILIP Schools Library Group and the Schools Library Association and will be valuable to a wider range of students.   • The opportunity to share good practice and make contacts with fellow practitioners and acknowledged experts in their field
  • Successful applicants will be offered the opportunity to contribute to articles describing their experiences or commenting upon current issues in children’s librarianship in Youth Library Review and CILIP Update and Gazette.

    To Apply:  Provide details of qualifications and current course studied  or career path details plus a 600 word statement of current interest in children and young people’s librarianship and of how attending this conference will support career development.
