All CILIP members are assigned to one of the 12 regional Branches based on their preferred contact: either a home or work address. Being a member of one of the nine English Branches or of CILIP in Scotland, CILIP Cymru or CILIP in Ireland provides you with a way of networking.
Every member of CILIP also benefits from free membership of two Groups as part of their membership. You are welcome to join additional Groups for an additional nominal charge of £10 per Group. There are many ways that you can be involved in Branches and Groups:

• Reviews editor

• Membership secretary

For more information about roles visit the individual website of the Branch or Group. Members of Branch and Group committees are usually sought in October and November for election to serve for the following year for a period of three years.
REQUIREMENTS: For Special Interest Groups, need to be a CILIP member for the postions of Chair, honorary secretary and honorary treasurer; for other committee positions have to be member of the Group

TIME COMMITMENT: Varies according to role, probably at least three committee meetings a year
Umbrella Working Group
The Umbrella Working Group works with CILIP’s Events team to help plan a biennial conference. The Umbrella Conference reflects the current training needs and interests of members and provides an effective meeting and networking opportunity for all CILIP members.
