Louise Goswami 

Biography

Louise Goswami is a senior member of the Kent, Surrey and Sussex (KSS) Library & Knowledge Services Team. Prior to joining the NHS, Louise worked in the private sector for both Accenture and Hewlett Packard. She holds an MBA from the Open University and an MA in Information and Library Management from the University of Northumbria.

Abstract

Developing a mentoring programme for NHS Library staff in Kent, Surrey and Sussex

This paper will provide an overview of the mentoring programme developed for NHS Library Staff in KSS. It will detail programme development, implementation and scalability.

The programme provides structured support as library staff:

•  Initiate change within library services

•  Undertake new roles and responsibilities

•  Develop professional qualifications

•  Plan careers and continuing professional development

•  Return to work following a career break
