Biography
Mala studied
in London and started her career at Hammersmith & Fulham Central
Library. Moving to Cardiff in 1983 she worked in the Law Library,
University of Wales Institute of Science & Technology. After
a nine years break her first appointment was with Cancer Research
Wales Library, Velindre Hospital, then to the Support Unit for Research
Evidence, Cardiff University. Her current projects include conducting
systematic reviews and in the production of other evidence-based
publications.
Abstract
SURE
making a difference in health and social care
The Support
Unit for Research Evidence (SURE) based within Information Services
at Cardiff University (1), collaborate with health professionals
across sectors and disciplines. SURE was established in 2000 to
support and conduct research to assist evidence-based practice and
policy. The members of SURE are involved in, searching for, appraising
and summarising current and reliable evidence. The presentation
will illustrate projects carried out within SURE and the difference
it is making to health and social care.
