Abstract

Information literacy skills for nurses: to assess or not to assess?

This interactive workshop looks at issues surrounding the assessment of information literacy skills – what skills we might want to assess and why, and how such assessments can be done. Working in groups and supported by the facilitators, participants will design a short assessment based on a case study. The results of a piece of action research on assessment will also be presented, giving participants further guidance on the issues surrounding assessment .

Presented with Alison Gordon and Andy Jackson

"From Powerpoint to academic print"

Ever wanted to make that leap from giving a presentation to seeing your work in print? This interactive workshop will help you to develop your presentation from the "PowerPoint" stage to submitting an article for publication in an academic journal. We'll discuss the components of research articles and how we can use this information to turn our presentation into a full-length article for submission in a journal, such as Health Information and Libraries Journal.

Presented with Dr Graham Walton
