Abstract
Samuel
Christian Hahnemann - the first independent prescriber?
The life and
times of German Apothecary and Physician Samuel Christian Hahnemann,
the man credited with founding homeopathy, will be outlined and
his links with Scotland explored. Some people dismiss homeopathy
entirely as a placebo effect, others express considerable confidence
in its healing powers. A third group of people believes homeopathy
may well have a part to play in modern healthcare delivery but is
not too sure exactly how this may be achieved. The basis of these
views will be discussed in the address.
