Getting to Eastbourne

Rail

Southern Railway operate direct services from London Victoria (stopping at London Gatwick) every half hour, with a journey time of 90 minutes. To avoid London, train connections to Eastbourne can also be made at Gatwick Airport and Haywards Heath. Southern Railway also operate the East and West Coastway service to Portsmouth and to Ashford International, which connects to the Eurostar service.

National Rail

Air

London Gatwick International Airport is less than an hour away by car or by taking the direct Southern Railway service which runs every 30 minutes. London Heathrow Airport is 1¾ hours by car via M25, or catch a train to London Victoria for the Southern Railway service to Eastbourne.

Road

From London and the North
Eastbourne is just 44 miles from the M25. If approaching from the M25 west, join the M23/A23, followed by the eastbound A27. If approaching from the M25 east (Dartford crossing), the key approach road is the A22.

From the East and West
The scenic A259 coastal road links Eastbourne with coastal towns Hastings and Brighton, or if travelling from the west, the A27 provides an alternative faster route.
